My dad, mother-in-law and sister-in-law were all residents of Pleasant Valley Health Care Center.  Because of the great care my family members received at Pleasant Valley, my mother is now a resident at Pleasant Valley Health Care. The administrators, nursing and staff are easy to communicate with and are willing to fulfill family wishes. The staff is very respectful to the residents and shows them loving care as if they were family members by hugging them, asking them if they need or want anything and going out of their way to make them comfortable and feel at home. My family has had a positive experience with Pleasant Valley Health Care Center and would recommend it for your loved one.

A Beautiful Relationship

 

I am a 68-year-old disabled veteran. I served my country for almost 35 years, the last 26 years for the veteran’s hospital located in Muskogee Oklahoma. I was in the medical field for over half my life. 

I am the 4 born out of 5 children and when our mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and my family was not able to care for her needs, they entrusted me, Mr. Lawrence Thompson Sr. to find a place to care for our mother. 

My training and familiarity allowed me to enter nursing facilities state wide and also in surrounding states. The place of choice was Pleasant Valley Health Care Center here in Muskogee Oklahoma. What set Pleasant Valley apart from all the other facilities I had been in was the owner/administrator greeted everyone who entered the facility with a smile and this had a rippling pass me down effect that extended to the son and from the son to the entire staff. This facility is always well staffed in every department, you never have to look for someone if you need help or have questions. Not only are they visible during the day, but they are visible all day, every day, including weekends and holidays.

I observed many facilities where an unpleasant aroma would meet you at the door, not at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center. My mother stayed at Pleasant Valley from 2008 until her death in 2012. I made many visits in those years and always found the facility clean and odor free.

​

My wife required 24-hour skilled nursing care in 2010 from February until her death in September. I looked nowhere but to Pleasant Valley to take care of her. 

​

For the past two years my aunt, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, lives at Pleasant Valley Health Care and refers to it as home. The entire staff extends their courteous attitudes beyond the facility. If my final days require a top notch nursing retirement facility, my preference is Pleasant Valley Health Care Center.

My husband and I have had the privilege of knowing Danny Nevitt, the owner and administrator of Pleasant Valley Health Care Center in Muskogee, for over 20 years. Danny has proven to be a man with a heart for people and one of good character.

 

During the time that we have known Danny, we have had six of our family members reside at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center and four family members have been tenants at the Pleasant Valley Retirement Apartments, which he owns and operates. Because of the great care our family has received at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center and the personal attention they receive from the staff and Danny himself, we would not place our family members at any other facility.

 

Pleasant Valley Health Care is a family owned facility, unlike the other nursing homes in town. Danny, the owner, makes himself available to his residents and their families, taking time to visit and determine if there is something they need. He is a generous man and works to make sure each family has a positive experience in his facility. Danny is a man of integrity, making sure to provide the best care for those who reside at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center. 

 

We would recommend Pleasant Valley Health Care Center to anyone needing a home like atmosphere to take care of their loved ones and feel comfortable it is owned and operated by a caring man like Danny Nevitt.

To Whom It May Concern,

My mother was admitted to Pleasant Valley many times in her life for physical therapy. She was well taken care of, the staff was always friendly and nice and it was always kept very clean. The owners would check with our mom and our family to see if there was ever a need for anything. When she would be in the hospital and needing to go to a nursing home, there was never a question as to where she would go. One of us would always check first thing with Pleasant Valley to see if there was a room for her.  Fortunately there always was.

I often recommend Pleasant Valley to our friends whose parents needed a nursing home and I would highly recommend them to anyone today.

Danny & Britton,

 

Thank you for continually demonstrating compassion throughout Bill's residency beginning October 2020 through his passing in February 2024. During his time at Pleasant Valley, we could continually rely on communication with staff and had access to the leadership. Staff knew us well and we felt heard. PV became Bill's home away from home and we directly attribute that to staff efforts of providing individualized care that enabled him to feel he was still important, retain his dignity and had purpose to live.

 

Bill, as well as many of our family members who visited regularly, were recognized, and engaged by staff at all levels of job responsibilities. Whether it was a simple hello or how are you today, we felt as though we mattered. Words alone cannot express how appreciative our entire family is regarding the loving care Bill received while residing at PV. The compassion and care given by all the staff helped us tremendously during one of the more challenging times in our lives and we will be forever grateful.
